ACP sheet calculator

Estimate how many ACP sheets your facade needs, in feet or metres. A planning tool from the engineers at Cladex Elevations.

Your facade

Wastage depends on your panel layout, folds and openings; your engineer sets the final figure from a layout drawing.

How the estimate works

Sheets needed = (facade width × height − openings) ÷ area of one sheet × (1 + wastage). One 1220 × 2440 mm sheet covers 2.98 m² (about 32 sq ft); a 10×4 sheet covers 3.72 m² and a 12×4 sheet 4.47 m².

Real facades are cut into routed and folded trays, so every panel uses a little more sheet than its face area, and openings, columns and corners leave offcuts. That is why the wastage allowance matters, and why an engineer's panel-layout drawing gives the final quantity.

Laying out ACP sheets on a facadeFront elevation of a facade divided into panels cut from standard 1220 by 2440 millimetre (4 by 8 foot) ACP sheets. Dashed outlines show the full sheets, thick lines show the panel joints of about 10 millimetres, and hatched areas at the top and right edge show the off-cut wastage where the facade size is not an exact multiple of the sheet size.FACADE ELEVATION1 sheetFacade widthFacade height12202440Facade panelFull sheet1220 × 2440 mm(4 × 8 ft)Jointabout 10 mmWastageoff-cuts beyondthe facade edgeFolded returns add to eachpanel's cut size.
Panels are cut from standard 1220 × 2440 mm (4 × 8 ft) sheets; where the facade is not an exact multiple of the sheet size, the leftover strips become off-cut wastage.
FAQ

ACP quantity questions

How many ACP sheets do I need for my building front?

Divide the net facade area (wall area minus windows and openings) by the area of one sheet, then add an allowance for cutting wastage and folded returns. A standard 8×4 ft sheet (1220 × 2440 mm) covers about 32 sq ft. The calculator above does this for you; your engineer refines it from a panel-layout drawing.

What is the standard ACP sheet size in India?

The most common size is 1220 × 2440 mm, known as 8×4 ft. Longer sheets such as 1220 × 3050 mm (10×4 ft) and 1220 × 3660 mm (12×4 ft) are also made, and they help reduce joints on tall or wide elevations.

Why do I need extra sheets for wastage?

ACP panels are routed and folded into trays with returns on each edge, and the facade rarely divides exactly into whole sheets. Cut-offs around openings, columns and corners, plus the folded returns, mean you always buy more sheet area than the flat wall area.

Can I get an exact quantity and price from this calculator?

No. It gives a planning estimate of sheet count only. The exact quantity depends on the panel layout, joint pattern and fold details, and the price depends on brand, grade, coating, sub-frame and site conditions. Send your elevation on WhatsApp for a site-measured quote.
