Facades and Glass Work for Hotels, Resorts & Restaurants

Hospitality that starts at the kerb.

Technically reviewed by Er. Sanjay M. & Er. Aravind M.Civil Engineers, CIT Coimbatore · 10+ years in facades · Reviewed 7 Oct 2026

ACP elevations, glazed frontages, glass railings and shower partitions that give hotels, resorts and restaurants a welcoming look and a comfortable guest experience.

Guests form an opinion of a hotel or restaurant before they reach the reception desk or the first table. The front elevation, the porch where cars pull in and the view through the glass at night all set expectations about the experience inside. Cladex Elevations creates facades and glass interiors for hotels, resorts, lodges, restaurants and cafes across Tamil Nadu and Kerala, using ACP, structural glazing and toughened glass to build an inviting first impression that suits the brand.

Hospitality projects run from the street to the bathroom. On the outside, we clad elevations and porte-cochere canopies in ACP and glaze dining areas and lobbies to show off the interiors. Inside, we install glass railings for staircases, balconies and terraces, and frameless shower glass partitions for guest bathrooms. Each element has to look premium and hold up to heavy daily use, cleaning chemicals and the humidity that is common across our region.

Hotels and restaurants also cannot afford long periods of disruption, so planning the work in phases around guest areas is part of the job. Our engineers, Er. Sanjay M. and Er. Aravind M., visit the property, measure precisely and walk through the sequence with you before fabrication begins. What matters

What a hotels & restaurant facade must deliver

01

A distinctive, welcoming front

The elevation and entrance canopy should express the property's character, whether that is a sleek business hotel, a family restaurant or a resort, and look inviting by day and night.

02

Views and natural light

Dining rooms, lobbies and rooms with a view sell better when glass is maximised, but the glazing must also manage sun, glare and heat so guests stay comfortable.

03

Guest safety at every level

Balconies, terraces, staircases and pool decks need safety glass railings designed for the loads of crowds leaning on them, as well as slip-free, well-fixed bathroom glass.

04

Resistance to humidity and wear

Bathrooms, pool decks and coastal or hill-station locations expose materials to moisture and salt. Fittings and coatings must resist corrosion and staining.

The entrance and porch: where hospitality begins

For a hotel, the porte-cochere or entrance canopy is the first architectural element a guest experiences up close. Clad in ACP with a matching soffit, it can carry the hotel's name, house feature lighting and shield arriving guests from sun and rain. We pay attention to the underside as much as the top, because guests standing beneath the canopy look up at the soffit, and stains, sagging panels or visible fixings quickly undermine the impression of quality.

Restaurants and cafes rely even more heavily on the street view. A glazed front that shows diners, warm lighting and the interior design is often the best advertisement a restaurant has. We size and position glass so the dining area is visible without exposing kitchens or service corridors, and we combine glazing with an ACP fascia that carries signage and frames the frontage. Toughened glass doors with robust hardware withstand constant opening throughout service hours.

Glass inside the guest experience: showers, railings and terraces

Glass shower partitions have become standard in hotel bathrooms because they look clean, open up small rooms and are easy for housekeeping to wipe down. We use toughened safety glass for all shower panels, with hinges and fittings selected to resist corrosion in constantly wet conditions. Careful site measurement matters here, since bathroom walls and floors are rarely perfectly square and frameless glass needs accurate dimensions to sit correctly and seal well.

On balconies, terraces, rooftop restaurants and staircases, glass railings preserve the view that guests are paying for. For these barriers, laminated toughened glass is the safer option: if a panel breaks, the interlayer helps hold the fragments in place rather than letting them fall. Fixing systems are designed for the loads of people leaning on the rail. In coastal and humid locations, we favour stainless steel and suitably coated aluminium hardware to limit corrosion.

FAQ

Hotels & Restaurants: common questions

Which glass is best for hotel balcony railings?

Laminated toughened glass is the preferred choice for balcony and terrace railings. The toughened glass gives strength, and the laminated interlayer helps hold the pieces together if a panel ever breaks, so fragments are less likely to fall. The glass thickness and fixing system are chosen according to the railing height, span and expected use.

Are frameless shower partitions practical for hotels?

Yes. Frameless toughened glass shower partitions have fewer joints for dirt and soap to collect in, so they are easy for housekeeping to clean, and they make compact bathrooms feel bigger. Choosing corrosion-resistant hinges and fittings is important in constantly wet conditions. We measure each bathroom individually because walls are rarely perfectly square.

Can you redo a restaurant's front without closing for long?

In many cases, yes. Much of the ACP fabrication happens off site after measurement, so on-site work is mostly fixing the frame, panels and glass. We discuss phasing and working times with you before starting, so the entrance can stay usable where possible. The exact approach depends on the frontage and the extent of the work.

How do you handle humidity and salt air at resorts?

Coastal and humid locations need materials that resist corrosion. We favour PVDF-coated ACP for colour stability, stainless steel fasteners and fittings, and properly coated aluminium framing. Sealant joints and drainage paths are detailed so water does not sit behind panels. Regular freshwater washing also helps glass and cladding last longer near the sea.

Do you serve hotels and resorts in Kerala?

Yes. We take up facade, glazing, railing and shower partition work for hotels, resorts and restaurants across Tamil Nadu and Kerala from our offices in Coimbatore. Send photos or drawings of your property on WhatsApp, and our engineers will arrange a site visit and a free, site-measured quote.
